One of the things I learned early on in my business is that success is an identity process! People often need to relate to a piece of your story before they believe success is possible for them too.
That’s why I believe that learning how to tell your story is one of the most important and powerful skills you can learn as a business owner.
As much as we want to find facts and statistics to support the message we’re sharing… people can’t connect with a fact like they can with a story.
When you’re putting your kids to bed… do you read them facts? Of course not! You read them a bedtime story so they can imagine the story in their mind as they drift off to sleep.
The same thing happens when you tell YOUR story! People relate with what you say and they begin to imagine themselves in your situation…
And when you share your struggles (as hard as that can be), it shows people that you’re REAL (and that success doesn’t come without challenges!)
The more people relate to you, your story, and your struggles… the more they will trust you.
And people do business with people they know, like, and trust.
