“When the Lord your God gives you rest from all the enemies around you in the land the Lord your God is giving you to possess as an inheritance,

blot out the memory of Amalekites under heaven. ...do not forget.” Deuteronomy 25:19

One of the reasons I felt confident enough to get in the Word daily was because I had some girlfriends willing and committed to reading daily with me too. Im so grateful. Im not sure I would have committed to it myself or been confident enough to begin without them. Today I can't imagine NOT being in the Word. I can't imagine NOT seeing what special treasure the Lord has hidden in His Word for me. I still read and share with women reading along with me. Today Im sharing my dear friend Kim's reflection. This is why this is so special. It's often the share of another from the group that gets me. The Lord did not make design us to do life alone...Im confident of that! The Word is so rick. The Holy Spirit is so faithful to show up through the Word and it's been in reading it in community that the richness of the Word has been truly revealed. So so so very thankful for the Women At The Well.

Kim I love what the Lord highlighted for you today. It blessed me so...I’m drawn to these final verses in today’s chapter. “Therefore, when the Lord your God has given you rest from all your enemies in the land he is giving you as a special possession, you must destroy the Amalekites and erase their memory from under heaven. Never forget this!” Deuteronomy‬ ‭25‬:‭19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I’ll begin with the “when” God gives us rest from all of our enemies. Not if but when.

First of all in my experience this REST is not just a peaceful season of life but the trust in God even when storms come. Rest is a choice not a lack of problems.

Even in seasons of rest when life is going along pretty well we need to remember that the enemy comes daily to steal, kill, and destroy.

Similar to the Amalekites, sin comes creeping at our door daily. Gods desire is that we blot out that sin and any residue associated with it.
