One of the sweetest gifts in this season of my life is getting to read the Word alongside women I love and trust. My friend Kim and I have been doing this together for about eight years now, and there are so many days when I feel like seeing Scripture through her eyes is so very special and very impactful as we take this journey together!

Today, as we were reading Deuteronomy 30, her reflection just hit my heart in the best way. I asked if I could share it here for this Manna in the Morning entry, because I believe someone else might need it too.

“And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the hearts of your descendants [that is, He will remove the desire to sin from your heart], so that you will love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul, so that you may live [as a recipient of His blessing].

But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, so that you may obey it.”

(Deuteronomy 30:6, 14 AMP)

I’m so thankful for God’s word. I’m so thankful that because of this profound practice we have begun, God continues to do a good work in my heart.

This truth landed deeply for me today, too. I’ve noticed lately how much Scripture is being written on my heart—not just as words I read, but as truth I know. I’ve been watching The Chosen and finding myself silently reciting the words of Jesus even before the actor speaks them. It’s this beautiful reminder that God really does write His Word on our hearts when we show up with patience and perseverance.

And here’s what I declare today: because I chose to go first in this walk with the Lord, my descendants forevermore will eat of its fruit.

Thank you, Kim, for this reflection and for walking this road with me.

Thankyou, Friend, for continuing to journey with me here. May His Word be near to you today—in your mouth, in your heart, and in the way you live.
