“After the Lord your God has done this for you, don’t say in your hearts, ‘The Lord has given us this land because we are such good people!’ No, it is because of the wickedness of the other nations that he is pushing them out of your way. It is not because you are so good or have such integrity that you are about to occupy their land. The Lord your God will drive these nations out ahead of you only because of their wickedness, and to fulfill the oath he swore to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. You must recognize that the Lord your God is not giving you this good land because you are good, for you are not—you are a stubborn people.” — Deuteronomy 9:4-6 NLT

Today I sit here reading about the faithfulness of God and can’t help but wonder, “Do my actions tell a story about me? Am I showing up how I want to be remembered?

It’s humbling to realize that the blessings in my life aren’t because I’m good—they’re because God is good. Just like the Israelites, it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking we’ve earned something because of our own merit. But the truth is, God’s faithfulness isn’t based on our performance. It’s rooted in His character.

As I chew on the Word today, I’m having some revelations about the person I want to be. I want my life to reflect the grace I’ve received—a life that points to Him, not to me.

How about you? What kind of story are your actions telling? Today's Reflection
