Genesis 21: What's your source?

Today Im going to share a reflection that was shared in our group about Genesis 21:

"The Lord came to Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did for Sarah what he had promised.

THUS, God's promises are true‼️

At that time Abimelech, accompanied by Phicol the commander of his army, said to Abraham,

'God is with you in everything you do. Swear to me by God here and now, that you will not break an agreement with me or with my children and descendants. As I have been loyal to you, so you will be loyal to me and to the country where you are a resident alien.'

This covenant comes on the heals of yesterday’s chapter where Abraham lies to Abimelech and he takes Sarah for himself.

It’s interesting that Abraham thought the fear of the Lord was not with this king, yet here he is recognizing the power of Abraham’s God.

The desire of this King is to live in peace with Abraham and by virtue of this covenant he will be under protection with this man of God he probably fears.

All throughout these chapters we see the goodness of God. Why do we still doubt it in our own lives during trials??"

This question was so good. I really sat in this and I truly recognize when I am feeling doubt it is representative of what/where I am putting me hope. It's recognizing my true source!
