Leviticus 27: It's all His. He generously allows me to keep 90%.

The Bible is filled with verse after verse confirming that we should give a tithe—a tenth—1/10 to the Lord.  This tends to a hard topic in every context. I hear pastors say over and over how criticized they get for talking about "money."

I’m getting ready to give a talk on giving to a group of women. Giving has been one of those

things in my walk with the lord that somehow has always been very clear to me. I have seen incredible benefits and favor financially in life and I totally believe it's relative to my consistency in giving. Ive had seasons where I have had much and many seasons when I have had very little and wasn't quite sure how I would have enough to pay the bills. They have always been covered. Sometimes the math just doesn't add up.

My belief quite frankly is none of what we have is ours; everything is the Lord’s. I believe I get to be a steward of what is the Lord's. I can look at it as He is asking me for 10% of my money or I can be thankful He generously is saying, "Keep 90%." When I look at this command to give, the spiritual discipline of generosity, I know with every fiber of my being this is all His no matter what. When I look at giving in this light I can do it joyfully and immediately with out hesitation!

How does this feel to you? Where are you at with your giving? I truly believe it's one of the FUNDAMENTALS, as a follower of Jesus.
