Numbers 11: Consider the Cost

Writer: Kami PentecostKami Pentecost

“We remember the fish we ate in Egypt at no cost—also the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic.”

‭‭Numbers‬ ‭11‬:‭5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The word COST jumped off the page to me today. How could they miss BONDAGE? There

was such a cost! I have looked backwards too many times in my life that's for sure! What am I wishing, wanting, longing for that comes at a cost? Bondage has a steep cost!

I absolutely love our group that shares what we are learning/reading. Another gal in the group shared this today:

"We remember the fish we ate in Egypt. That fish cost us nothing. We also had good vegetables like cucumbers, melons, chives, onions, and garlic." It is still so amazing how we can be enslaved and living in abusive situations, escape it and still look back at the toxic life with rose colored glasses finding a highlight reel when our current reality feels uncomfortable. When I went through domestic violence counseling 5 years ago my counselor called me out on this very thing. Telling me to look at the entire story, play it all out not just the highlight reel. Don’t look back at what God has delivered you from with those rose colored glasses. This keeps you stuck. Trust God and move forward from where you’ve been delivered. He has so much MORE in store for us if we’d just let go of the past and BELIEVE God is for us ❤️
